Gregg Hornbeak, contemporary artist and part-time philosopher, lives on Cypress Black Bayou in a studio house not far from where he grew up in the small paper mill town of Springhill, Louisiana. Contemplating life and art take up much of his creative time.

Hornbeak tries to begin and end each day in his studio doing what he loves best -- creating lasting art that is good for the soul. That and walking his loyal dogs Rudy and Tootie.

The open air environment of his lake view studio and the serenity of country living help to create the mood necessary for paintings of this intense quality.

"My art is intensely spiritual in its scope and complexity," Hornbeak ponders, "It is food for the soul and mind."
